About

Yue Yang is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the College of Computer Science and Technology at Zhejiang University, advised by Guanyun Wang and Lingyun Sun. She is also a visiting student researcher in Morphing Matter Lab at University of California, Berkeley. Her research interests lie in human-computer interaction (HCI), especially at the intersection of digital fabrication, materials & structures, sensing, and healthcare. Committed to bridging design and technology, Yue envisions democratizing custom fabrication and creating adaptive tangible objects to enhance the quality of life for diverse populations.

Yue has received prestigious design awards, including Red Dot, iF, Dezeen, and James Dyson Awards. Additionally, her work has been published in top HCI journals and conferences, such as CHI and IMWUT (UbiComp), and has been exhibited in multiple design exhibitions. Before pursuing her master's and Ph.D. studies, Yue earned her undergraduate engineering degree in industrial design from Zhejiang University.
